So, dawn breaks in Page Arizona (yes, I'm awake. Body clock is adjusted to sunrise awakening now) and after a sad free breakfast at the Best Western, we're off to the grand canyon. Stopped on the way at Navajo Bridge and watched the fish jumping in the Colorodo river. We tried to stop for a photo op with the Vermillion Cliffs, but the wind was blowing so hard, Kat literally could not open the door to the mustang. Desert winds are strong. Those winds created som interesting drivin obstacles with tumbling brush. But this desert life was not ours for long - as we climbed altitude, we hit snowfall. So long to our extended summer! But also hello to beautiful golden aspens. Finally made it to the Grand Canyon North Rim, which is less visited than the South Rim. In fact, the lodge we're staying in closes in mid October because of the snow, which is just starting with our visit. Hard to believe we were swimming yesterday since its 30 degrees today. Still, that big hole in the ground is awful pretty.
